Viewing a list of unapproved software titles

You can quickly find unapproved software titles that are installed, as well as their installed counts. This information allows you to enforce corporate policy regarding the use of approved software. You can also determine who has the unapproved software and where the unapproved software is installed.

To view unapproved software titles:

  1. Go to the IT Asset Management workspace and expand Software Asset Management > Software Catalog > Software Titles Tracked by Installation view or Software Titles Tracked by Assignment view.

  2. Sort the view by the Approval Status column. Approval status is either Approved or Not Approved, providing you have entered or imported this data.

  3. Open a software title that is not approved.

  4. In the Tasks pane, click View Related Hardware Asset.

  5. Go to the Ownership and Location column to see who the asset is assigned to.

If a hardware asset is not found, the title was not linked to a hardware asset through a CI, see Hardware asset.
